Recently I spent sometime exploring Fort Union National Monument, near Las Vegas, NM. I love history and this spot is rich it it as it was a vital and flourishing spot for around 50 years during the late 1800's along the Santa Fe Trail. Built almost entirely of Adobe the vast and numerous buildings and walls have nearly vanished. Remnants remain along where you can actually see the Wagon Trail ruts along the open and expansive landscape. Enjoy the photos...I was there in January, only wished there was snow at that time to create even more contrast. Maybe next time.
