In late Jan 2015, after an art show in Denver, Colorado I took a hike up the towering dune field that is near Alamosa Colorado. It was a bright clear and chilly day....and my goal late in the afternoon was to find a spot to capture the movement of light across the dunes with the dramatic backdrop of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. I've been to the dunes countless number of times...many times as a teen nearly 40 years ago...then several times as a Dad with my family while living in nearby Taos, NM....but this was the first time with a camera and tripod thrown over my shoulder. The Dunes are an exceptional place to play, explore, photograph and yes....to just sit, and witness the glorious ending of another day.
